Our story
For over 30 years, the Perkins family has owned and farmed 'Flax Hills.' As the second generation on this land, we, Karl and Viv, have raised our four children here, deeply connecting with the land and its traditions. Hunting has always been a significant part of life at Flax Hills. In 2010, we opened Flax Hills Hunting to share this unique experience with the world.
Our property offers a true taste of New Zealand’s high country, with rugged hills set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Kaikoura Mountain range and the pristine Pacific coastline just 30 minutes away. The expansive estate features a variety of landscapes—from fertile irrigated flats to rolling hills and challenging high-country terrain. We carefully manage the land, utilising it for livestock farming, while preserving areas in their native state, were wild deer roam freely.
